Come at me!

Maybe your trick would work if you suggest to your mother before the dress shopping starts that she and your dad renew their vows. Then you can say "that would look so cute ON YOU" implying that she's already agreed they should do it. I know, it's a stretch, but it might save those hurt feelings.

(Just kidding.)

Quik Trip rocks! They don't say "Good bye," they say "See you later!" It's like a corporate rule.

Have fun!!

You should totally do the wedding-dress/pregnant-belly thing. One of my BFFs became so because, a month into knowing her, we went wedding dress shopping together- our weddings were 4 weeks apart. I thought this'd be a terrible idea (she was blonde, cute & American; I was none of those things) until we got to the first boutique. They made us take off our shoes to step into the "bridal preparation area". Kim, in front of dozens of fancy brides and their mums, called casually over her shoulder, "Has that foot fungus cleared up yet, Sarah?". From that moment on? LOVED her. How could you not?

I had to tell my mom I already had the idea of what I wanted (sleeveless, full skirt, no train) so that by the time we got into the stores, she already had an idea of what I was looking for. I had to try on a few dresses that I wouldn't have bought in a million years, but I ultimately ended up with what I wanted, and I didn't hurt her feelings.

Ha! My mom and I say something very similar, and it never fails to make us laugh out loud...we both know what the other means, but...

Enjoy wedding dress shopping!
