Congratulations! It must be a great feeling! I legitimately can't wait to read it!
YAY! I don't even know you but I can't wipe this stupid proud smile off my face for you.
I love the following:
a) the beautiful green. this will stand out like the bright orange shampoo bottles at Target. People will pick it up just for this hue. I love it. I wish I had a shirt in this color and the exact coveractually on a shirt.
b) the lightening bolt on the back.
c) all of it. it is just going to rock
d) that i preordered it the moment you posted the information about it and still it doesn't feel like enough to support a stranger making her dreams happen.
your writing usually inspires me to write, but ALWAYS makes me laugh. Except today, it was more of a smile instead of a laugh.
**knuckles** [or as i recently heard it's now "bump it"?]
Yay! So happy to have seen the beginning of the book process, and so proud to be with you at the end ... of the book. With my 1990 Will. :) Can't wait to pimp the book at the september salon of shame!
I've been too totally shy to ever post a comment on your website (I posted on your Flickr, though), but this is SO EXCITING. YAY FOR YOU! I have loved your writing for a pretty long time now, and it's been really awesome to watch the Cringe success story unfold. Just, gosh.
You are awesome, and also a well-known blogger.
Customers who purchased the Cringe Book also purchased the new David Sedaris. Pretty badass, Sarah Brown. Looking forward to it! Congratulations, I'm excited for you right through the internet.
Aww, this is wonderful. Congratulations.
WOOT! I am so impressed! Congrats, drinks on me ;)
I rarely say this to someone that I like, but here goes: You deserve everything that is coming to you. No, really. You do.
Go, litel bok! Grandaddy Chaucer would be proud.
The troll is gone - how exciting! Congratulations on that, but moreso, congratulations on the book! Can't wait to read it!
And some extra exclamation points for good measure: !!!!!!!!!
Congratulations. I am looking forward to reading it too... ~Mari.
Congratulations! That is going to be my go-to gift book for months - all my friends can expect to receive this on their birthdays, anniversaries, flag days, etc.
Girl, congratulations. Would it be weird to say I'm proud of you? Because I totally am. You are awesome.
I can't WAIT to get my hands on your baby. BOOK TOUR 2008!
Sarah, I am so proud of you. I am so happy I know you and can call you my friend.
Look what a little website can do! Well, okay, one little website and one very awesome super talented gal.
I cannot wait to read this.
This is awesome - I cannot wait to read it! And now I am even prouder to be able to tell people that I met you in real life over tapas in NYC. :)
You = Awesome.
I get giddy when I cook a good meal, run 3 miles without passing out, or catch up on laundry. I cannot even imagine the sense of pride and accomplishment you must be feeling right about now. You deserve every bit of it!
Congrats from Florida. Can't wait to get a copy in my hands.
Yaaaay, lady! So proud.
I can't wait to buy it! It's gonna sell out in Oklahoma :)
f'in awesome, Sarah Brown! I pre-ordered this pretty much the moment it was possible -- cannot wait to have it in my sweaty hands. Congratulations! LYLAS!!! Don't change! Call me this summer, it was fun hanging out with you in trig!
I don't really know you, and I don't even have kids, but I think I feel like a proud parent, a parent who watched her daughter grow up and exploit (her) awkward adolescence for the benefit of mankind, to make them laugh out loud.
What a journey, girl. Propers to all the contributors and super-high fives and great big hugs to you.
Can't wait to read! Congratulations.
That has to be a great feeling. Congratulations!
Your photo is on the back of a book!!!!!!
That's so exciting.
Oh yay, I just got the echo of your awesome feeling right through the screen. Seriously can't wait to read it. And go to a book party. It's going to be at Mars 2112, right?
I was introduced to you at Dooce..and not surprised to hear you have a book at this stage of completion. Good for you...for writing it, allowing others to participate in it...for still thinking it is something of value after the editing process and for being able to laugh with...well with yourself, since none of US have seen it yet. Very red light district of you...dancing your book around half naked behind a wall of glass...getting us all hot and bothered to get our hands on it, to sink ourselves deep inside its...pages. Heroin is a good analogy! When do you start the next one? How's it go?...the first one is free, tell your friends???
Read ya soon.
yay! i have to say, since the first time i held my book was one week after my first child was born, it was kind of anti-climactical, but it was still such an insane experience and i totally know exactly how you feel. it's real! can't wait to buy it.
I am buying this book!
I can't wait to get mine from Amazon!
This totally made me cry. But then I laughed. But then I cried again! STOP IT. If this is my reaction to reading ABOUT the book, who knows what'll happen when I take it to the next level and have the thing in my hands...
Fantastic stuff. Very happy for you, SB. I am going to buy this book and keep it by my toilet.
(written on 2nd day in new office, 6000 miles from home)
OMG you have an ISBN! Sarah, your book is in the Library of Congress! Wow! This is crazy but I have spent the last two hours off and on searching for my junior high diary, which I swear to you is the same color as the cover of your book. And it has a very similar lock. Can you believe I've kept it since 1954? Do you know if your Mom has hers? I know your folks are so proud of you. Here's hoping it sells out before it hits the shelves! I'm quite sure that junior high and high school libraries will not be able to keep any copies for checkout! Speaking as a former school librarian, I've been there; I know the little thieves will steal every copy! ;)
Congratulations! May it be the first of many!
SO happy for you!
I'm so happy for you, Sarah! Like everyone else, I can't wait to read it.
You are so hilarious. Tried to make it to Cringe in May but it didn't quite work out; I am SO looking forward to the book.
will this also be available in spanglish?
OMG - I made the excerpts. Congratulations, Sarah! This is a huge accomplishment and you should be so proud!
that's just so awesome
Brown, you did it! Congratulations!
SB, you totally rock, and if it takes a book to let the rest of the world know of your awesomeness, then publish on! Can't wait to see what happens next, and am sure it will be grand. A million wishes of congratulations!
Can't wait to read it and get sick of talking about it.
will you have little anarchy stickers at the book signing to put on the back cover?
Sarah B., you have to let me know when the book tour comes to Chicago! Congratulations!!!
Hi. I just found you and now im done reading everything. Except the book, I can not wait to read that. Congratulations! :)
i cannot wait until you are on oprah with her and toni morrison and gayle and alice walker and maya angelou and they are all sharing their pubescent diary scripts.
YOU ARE AMAZING SARAH BROWN!!! keep up the good work.
Congratulations! So incredibly exciting!
Congratulations! I'm very excited for you! Can't wait to have my very own copy!
OMG! The shooting star on the back cover! Around 1980 while in fifth grade I used something almost identical in a design/naming contest for our elementary school. I won. Oh, what sweet adolescent glory that was.
Congratulations!!! I cannot wait to read it.
